Dirk Benthien, CEO of CPI Inc., and Director of the Foam School
Dirk has 23 years of experience in the chemical industry, including running a division of an international, multi-billion business. He is also the sole shareholder of CPI, Inc. and has sprayed a couple hundred insulation jobs in addition to foam roofing, block fill, Carlisle FleeceBack® and similar applications. Dirk has sprayed on two episodes of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" as well as several artistic jobs on Discovery Channel’s "Monster House" shows. His educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and various industry certifications. Dirk teaches most of the business classes at the Foam School.
Scott Henderson, Vice President of CPI Inc., Technical Director of the Foam School
Scott has about 8 years of industry experience in various technical positions, including hands-on foam application and labor management expertise. His primary foam-related experience is in the insulation field. He has also worked on a Discovery Channel "Monster House" show and foamed one of the prize-winning entrants in the U.S. Department of Energy's "Energy Decathlon" competition in 2005. Scott mostly teaches the technical classes at the Foam School. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree along with numerous manufacturer’s certifications, including those from from Graco and SPI.
John Thompson, Application Specialist CPI Inc.
John has over 16 years of spray experience, mostly with large commercial roofs. John has sprayed a variety of roofs and insulating projects, managed foam crews, ran the service division of a foam roofing company, and now teaches students at the Foam School. John is a natural teacher because he loves foam and is very enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. As a matter of fact, his knowledge of foam has taken him around the country where he has taught students about their equipment as well as application techniques.
Mike Shockey, Service Manager for CPI Inc.
Mike is our technical guru. He has built and designed CPI’s new polymer spray rigs, so he really knows them inside out. Mike's particular expertise includes repairing and maintaining hydraulic, air, and electric proportioners as well as gun maintenance. He teaches most maintenance classes and provides in-field training throughout the U.S.
